My dogs didn't try to chew on the leash. I have two dogs and two leashes. So far, I am very satisfied. My dogs weigh about 83 pounds each. I don't leave dogs alone for a long time just to keep them out for a little bit. I use it for a cabin in the mountains because the site is not fenced. i like the length Gives enough freedom.
