A good deal for shallow water diving without a tank. I would use wire wrap for the power leads sinceit does get hot and may burn the cables if resting on the compressor. I used a 12 volt agm batterystarted at 12.8 volts and lasted 1.45 hours under load (OPT8016-103 Batteries D34M 750 CCA 55 Ah).That was my smallest battery, I would recommend no longer than an hour at a working depth nogreater than 10-15 ft, if something happens and it shuts off due to overheating, then that givesyou time for a safety ascend or you carry a spare air. IMPORTANT! You have to let it sit for over 30minutes after the first power disconnect to let it cool down, an hour is best. If it does not come onand your batter is good, it will start to smoke, just leave off the power leads and wait over 30 minutes.I hate having to deal with filling my two aluminum 80s since I am only in less than 10 for over an hour,just good for what I am doing. I used to be a hard hat diver so I know the commercial side of diving andthis is not recommended. If you want check piles or survey a hull in a marina, it's great. Just make sureyou have plate whether wood or metal to give it a good base and keep anything that you do not wantto get burned away from touching the compressor while it is on. It is not loud at all, 40 ft away you will not hear it, just the same sound like a small 1.5 compressor. No gas required, that is the best thing and itwill not disturb the boat next to you at dock. You need to set up a harness and use a better regulator, theone it comes with works but I have a $400 regulator that is like smooching an angel.
