Review on CrocSee Temperature Sensor Thermocouple 58 572°F by Brian Sage

Great if it works

As many have mentioned the quality is pretty terrible. When it works it's great and as accurate as you would expect from an RTD. The connector to the cable consists of 3 very, very thin wires. The cable itself also seems to have some flaws. I have a broken wire somewhere. By moving the cable (while the paddles and connector at the end of the sensor are perfectly still), I randomly get high temperature readings or none at all. Finally, the thread is not NPT. They are G1/4 like most imported valves, gauges etc. Generally you can seal them with enough tape, especially for gravity applications. If it's a 60psi+ process line, you probably won't get it to unseal. Of course, if you're using this in a thermowell, it doesn't matter.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive
