I've been using this monitor for about a month. So far I'm pretty impressed with it. I haven't looked at other 22" LCDs personally, but I have a 17" Viewsonic, a 19" Samsung and a 20" Dell in my apartment for comparison (the last two belong to my roommate). Compared to the old 17-inch Viewsonic and 19-inch Samsung, the image quality (brightness, sharpness, contrast) of this monitor is just as excellent; although it's not as good as the Dell 20-inch notebook in terms of colors and features. There are no dead/stuck pixels here. While I do see a very "tiny" amount of color variation at the edges of the screen, when it goes completely black it's not a big deal. Trust me, it's not as bad as others think. If you are a graphic designer and you use the whole screen where all the color details are important, you might need to look at other brands/models because this monitor is only 6 bit, for example when I do photoshop the gradient has some stripes and is not very smooth gradation. Samsung. If you're just sitting at your desk and not looking at your monitor from a very wide angle, this really isn't a problem. their monitors are about 160 degrees for normal use. -_- As for the stand, it's heavy and sturdy. The monitor does not shake and because there are handles on the bottom. In addition, the stand has a built-in swivel function, so rotating the monitor is a breeze. However, the connector can be detached very easily and has to be reconfigured each time. Aesthetically, this monitor looks gorgeous. The online images from this monitor look pretty awful. However, the design of this monitor (you have to see it in person, no photos on the web) is better than the newer Viewsonic model in my opinion. Aspect ratio up to 4:3 in full screen mode. So if you have older games at 640x480, 800x600, or 1024x768, you won't be able to play them natively. The monitor will stretch the image and everything will look bold and weird. I have a Geforce 6800GT graphics card with the latest drivers (91.47) and even with that I can't get the driver to display a 4:3 aspect ratio. Only a distorted screen is displayed. Don't let that put you off. I've read (complaints on forums) and heard (from a friend's 20" Samsung) that Benq, Viewsonic, Samsung, Acer and other 20" or 22" LCDs have the same problem. I believe (read somewhere on Dell's reviews site) that their entry-level 22-inch model (and the only 22-inch model at the moment) has the same problem. The only monitors I know of that don't do this are the Dell UltraSharp monitors. My roommate has one and he can force 4 aspect ratio : 3 like nothing. Overall, without the 4:3 aspect ratio issue, this monitor is GREAT and I LOVE IT. Its large screen is perfect for movies but not for a graphics workspace.
