I've only had the Ninebot S for about a week, but it was obvious from the start that I wasn't relaxed or comfortable riding it . Hitting bumps or going down a slope made control difficult. This steering wheel completely changed that. Now I can ride calmly and have almost complete control. Installation was easy except that the original knee pad had to be removed. (See suggestion 1 below.) I also like that the handle can be easily extended or retracted to fit in the trunk of my car. Suggestions: some time after loosening the screws, it's still very tight and there's really nowhere to pry open. I have two suggestions on how to be successful. More4Motion have a tool called Gear Puller that they use to easily remove the rod. (https://more4motion.com/products/kit-to-remove-knee-bar-and-red-connector-gokart-kit) I haven't tried it, but it looks good on video. But you have to order it in advance and wait for it to arrive. - How I ended up taking mine off: First, you take off the taillight bar. Remove the 4 Allen screws and then gently pry the bar up. It has some plastic clips that need to be removed; For me, I just moved on and eventually they parted without breaking. Once you've removed these you can tap the bottom of the kneebar with a hammer and it will eventually dislodge. At first I tried it with a rubber mallet for fear of damaging something, but it took a good hit with a steel mallet to finally loosen it. 2) With the steering wheel attached, the steering seemed too sensitive. With the help of the application, I reduced the steering sensitivity to zero and felt better that way. 3) This suggestion probably applies to both the handlebars and the kneebar: when riding it sometimes feels like trying to lean back by pushing the handlebars. steering wheel in your stomach. I eventually realized I was still in the new user mode and attempted to slow down as I broke the beginner speed limit. Setting the sport mode fixed this problem and made it more comfortable, although I didn't go much faster. Note: When the handlebar is attached and extended, Ninebot S will no longer stabilize itself when you dismount. The weight of the bar causes it to roll forward. This can be avoided by parking against a wall, curb, foot, or fully retracting the steering wheel. I don't see that as a big problem.
