Review on Attendee Events by Ron Kishore

The new version of Eventbrite is much improved over the old version.

I am happy to say that the system is much better than the previous version, but unfortunately the new version is still in beta. As a beta tester, I have found a number of issues that are not yet fixed. For instance, the automatic email notifications don't always send, especially for recurring events. And even if they do send, the recipient is not notified that they have received an invitation, and therefore cannot accept or decline it. Also, there is no way to customize the template that is used for invitations (the default one is generic). Another issue is that it takes a long time to create custom templates. Some of these templates are rather complex and require a lot of customization. This leads to a high chance of human error and typos being introduced in the process. Additionally, it is quite difficult to export the event schedule and invitees list from the system. Also, the system is very slow to handle big event schedules (more than 50 events) due to poor database design. Lastly, the "Event Management" module does not allow me to edit any of the event information. I'm forced to use the import/export tool to modify the content of the events.

Pros
  • For example, the "event creation" feature has been greatly improved, and now allows the user to choose which day the event should be scheduled on
  • There are many new things here! If you want to know what is new, simply read this blog post: https://www.gosquared.com/blog/201
Cons
  • The update has taken a lot longer than expected, which is causing many of the bugs to linger.
  • There is also a yearly upgrade cost.
  • This makes it difficult to find information about your events
