I'm giving this two stars instead of one because the error is also my fault. With an ATX power supply, you must briefly short two pins to turn it on. This device has no button, but its wiring is shorted. So if your power supply's main switch is in the "On" position, the tester will turn on when connected to AC power. There is no input protection, there will be an arc and will not short circuit and cut off the power supply when you connect a 12V processor. hot. It would be nice if it had an instant on button and fuse. At $15 it's cheap, but maybe too cheap. Better to use a digital multimeter or oscilloscope instead.
