No login protection

I'm giving this two stars instead of one because the error is also my fault. With an ATX power supply, you must briefly short two pins to turn it on. This device has no button, but its wiring is shorted. So if your power supply's main switch is in the "On" position, the tester will turn on when connected to AC power. There is no input protection, there will be an arc and will not short circuit and cut off the power supply when you connect a 12V processor. hot. It would be nice if it had an…

No manual Electronics

It seems to work fine. You can even tell if the numbers are ok or not with the picture posted on the Revain page. But that requires guidance. I have 30 years of experience building and troubleshooting PCs, but still I can't remember what all the values should be for different voltages. I don't need to open the Revain page just to see the list. You'll also need labels for input connectors, but that's not as important. After all, all plugs are coded, so they only fit in one direction. However, it

Get the best! Don't waste your time! More like it should be $3

This thing? It's pretty good useless! I mean? If the PSU is bad it will restart the computer and also boot up other things so it's usually quite necessary and how am I supposed to use the turbo the board without jumpers or by plugging it in first? . I got this after blacking out while working with MB. Then to notice that 6-8 pin power plugs work! You must always have an extra power supply to check, it works much better without wasting time! Good idea, poorly designed! There is no indication of…

Neat albeit missing 8 pin PCI-E connector

Received this unit to test and test the cables I will be braiding. However, to my surprise, it does not support an 8-pin PCIE connector. instead it is EPS. So if you have an 8 pin or 6+2 cable you will find that it is not compatible. I wish they would say that instead of just vaguely labeling "4, 6, 8-pin" because it's imprecise and you're actually only getting an 8-pin EPS. ** (and DO NOT try to force it! There is a notch at the top to prevent accidentally inserting the PCIE connector into the

The lack of some functions implies

This power supply tester does what it promises. It can be used to quickly test 4-pin ATX connectors, 6-pin PCIE connectors, 8-pin EPS connectors, Molex connectors, SATA connectors and floppy drive connectors. I list what types of connectors it has because the Revain page only lists 8-pin connectors when there are two types of 8-pin connectors: EPS and PCIE. Not knowing the difference, I included it with the intention of testing 8-pin PCIE connectors, which is not the case here. There are also…

Confirmed my suspicions, nice little tester

So I replaced my MOBO a while ago because my mouse kept disconnecting. Definitely had to upgrade, no big deal. I put in a new PC along with a new mobo VGA processor etc while keeping the old case and power supply. After a few months, my mouse turned itself off again. I've gone through all the selective interrupts and turned them off, fixed nothing. Then I noticed that in fact all USB connections were disconnected. I've searched the web but haven't found anything other than preventing Windows…
