I bought this to spot predators when hunting at night. For the price, this product performs surprisingly well. With the built-in IR illumination, I can easily see a predator's eyes at over 300 meters. I also bought a head strap to use them as true night vision goggles. I misread the description and thought they had a built-in lithium battery. There is a more expensive model with a built-in battery. It doesn't and I can get around 2 hours out of a 4 AA set depending on how much I use the light. With my 60mm illuminator active on my gun, these binoas can see the hole over 500 yards away with pretty good resolution. This is by no means a 3-4 PVS 14 military generation, but for the everyday Joe who wants to hunt down predators or see what's crawling at night a few times a year, they'll get the job done.
