Review on Blendtec Total Blender Classic WildSide by Amber Loridon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Owned by Blendtec and Vitamix. I prefer Blendtec.

I have owned a 5200 Vitamix for eight years. It works well, but I've often refused to use it because I didn't want to carry it around (and it was too big and ugly to leave on the counter). When my son left I let him take it as he often used it for cocktails. A few months later I wanted a powerful blender again. I thought about Ninja but my son told me that friends who had one were disappointed. We both thought there was nothing quite like Vitamix. Until I discovered Blendtec! After a long research I bought the Blendtec Total Blender and I really liked it. It does everything my Vitamix can do. For cleaning and getting all the product out of the container, I prefer Blendtec. For nut butters, I also prefer Blendtec in the Twister can. You can also use the Twister glass to make wonderful little "ice cream" from bananas or other frozen fruits. No additional ingredients are required. Smoothies come out quickly and smoothly. In contrast to the Vitamix, the lid can be easily removed. Don't get me wrong, the Vitamix does a good job too, but it's big and heavy and that (and the complicated lid) makes it a bit awkward to work with. I also find that my Blendtec is much quieter. By the way, before I ordered Blendtec, I actually bought a new Vitamix with a shorter container. After putting it on the counter and struggling with the lid my husband and I both agreed we had to return it and find another option. That's when I started my research and found Blendtec. By the way, Vitamix had a great return policy! Blentec is a pleasure to use. It was hard work with Vitamix. I was also pleased that the Blendtec was $200 less than the Vitamix.
