Review on SAS Hydration Bladder Backpack Climbing Sports & Fitness by Joseph Scalea

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used for Spartan Beast - 15.4 miles and over - 36 hurdles

I used this SAS hydration pack for Spartan Race - Tri State Beast on 04/30/16. Anyone who knows what the Spartan Race entails knows that the Beast is a trek (15 miles in this case) through some of the harshest mountain terrain. I took this backpack with me on this trip and climbed (including my bladder) 36 obstacles (including 100 and 150 meter barbed wire crawls) and ran/crawled/jumped/rolled. I constantly look at reviews before buying anything, especially something I knew would be my lifeline on the course. The hydration bladder held up more than well after multiple fills and refills, the rear storage pocket had enough room for running liners, a small Gatorade, a running light and glow sticks, and the shoulder straps including sternum strap ensured they didn't bounce around too much for me. I would definitely recommend this backpack to anyone looking for something to do with running/hiking. There is only ONE downside, the pouch will make your water taste a bit "plastic" if you don't. But to be honest, I really liked anything wet while I was there, so I got over it pretty quickly.

Pros
  • Nylon Liner
Cons
  • Almost never
