Review on πŸ’Ž Diamond Whetstone with Dual Grit - SHARPAL by Lance Levatte

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best pencil sharpener I've found in decades.

I've tried many sharpeners over the years. I have a Lansky set, I bought a set of credit card sized diamond sharpeners and I've had several different types of ceramic rods to name a few. I don't like water stones because they wear out, they need leveling and they make a huge mess, but every diamond sharpener and most oil stones I've tried had poor construction with the corners slightly above the surface, huh resulted in scratches. my blades. For the past 15 years, my main sharpening tool has been a large double-edged sharpening stone that I bought at the store for a dollar. FINALLY a high quality diamond stone at a decent price! The corners are flat with the rest of the surface and even slightly rounded to avoid scratching. The two grits are a great combination and the case holds the stone for both use and storage. The base of the case also has a high friction rubber pad. The corner lead is a nice touch. It's magnetized so it sticks to the stone. I don't use it, but it would be useful for many people, especially newbies, and well designed. The only downside to this whole system is that the corner guide doesn't fit into the stone case. This could easily have happened if the little plastic clips had been filed down a bit, so it's surprising that Sharpal didn't think to make room for them inside given how well designed everything else is.
