I knew I was buying a manual lens and that I should expect a lower quality lens. However, this lens exceeded my expectations. First, the diaphragm ring was wobbly out of the box due to the large amount of play. The photos taken with it were dull and boring. It's not good for beginners because it's cumbersome to use, and it's a bad choice for professionals because it produces poor photos. Don't drop the kit lens until you're ready to spend over $400.
