Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Hakko FX601-02 Temperature Adjustable Soldering Iron with Control by Charles Galan

Should have bought that first!

I have used my Weller soldering tool for stained glass windows so far and being a beginner I bought it with cost in mind. However, I found that the weller was heavy and heated unevenly. After reading reviews of the Hakko FX-601, I decided it was worth the upgrade. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! It warms evenly, maintains the temperature and is much lighter and more comfortable in the hand. My solder lines improved a lot after the first use because they withstood the heat and I was able to move more freely. I've read that some people don't like thick cords, but that doesn't bother me. You can see the length of the tip and where you are holding it, this gives you a lot more control. Also, with the reviews saying the tip was used, I'm pretty sure it's from a manufacturer that looks like it. I had a tiny area that appeared to have solder on it (though not discolored), but it was also very clear that it was brand new. I'm sure there is some kind of quality assurance process that makes it look like this. In any case, I am happy about this purchase and recommend it to both experienced solderers and beginners. It is very important!
