
My Anet A8 had to modify both the printer and the thumbscrews. A printer modification is required for such thumbscrews. I will explain this later in the review. I found the diameter of the thumb wheel was a bit big and got dirty on the printer body. I had to take the two front ones and use my bench sander to make them smaller. To change the printer: 1. I removed the old screw/wing nut assembly from the printer.2. Then I had to use a 1/8" drill bit to drill threaded holes in the slide. This allowed the screws to move freely in the slide. 3. Then I installed the bolts through the print platform using a threaded fastener, washer and nut to the bottom of the bed. This way the screw 4. Finally I put another washer and then the spring on the screw. This washer sits between the nut and the spring and provides a flatter surface for the spring (so they don't press on the nut) 5. I aligned 6. I placed another washer under the slide and screwed it in.
