I really liked the look of this collar and have had many compliments on it over the past few months. However, 10 months after purchase, the skin on the thinnest part of the collar broke. My dog is 9 and 65 pounds, well trained to walk on a leash and tethered in the yard for safety. The collar is rarely pulled, but today she ran into the yard to the neighbors, and when she hit the end of the leash, the collar broke. It could have ended in disaster, but by the grace of God it didn't. However, when the leather cracks like this, it indicates poor quality and is a dangerous defense. This collar is a great show collar, but if your dog likes to pull then the quality probably won't hold up as it has, even with careful use.
