I have factory piping and fittings on 95 f150, it doesn't work on 95 f150. After some more research it turned out that there are 2 connectors, one for brake lights, which was in the same spot as the other but was larger and harder to see. I tried connecting it to the other one which is the same size but slightly different shape, if you pick the right one it works.
