This turned out to be a quality product. I reluctantly have to change my old Themaltake USB3 clamshell phone (new Mac, new technology. Time moves on). This step worried me. But I didn't have to worry: it's no worse than Thermaltake. Nekteck offers a stylish and robust case for my hard drive. If anything, it provides a little extra shock absorption from the (as they called it in the instructions) "rubber object". I connected it to my old Mac using the USBA->USBC cable I use to charge my phone. Works perfectly. Connected it to my new Mac with the included USBC->USBC cable: works great too. I have no doubts about this purchase. And (see photo 2) the "jacket" provided by Thermaltake even fits my new nekteck! Bonus!
