GMB is a big company. I believe this pump is cast iron. Other brands offer it in an aluminum case for corrosion resistance and light weight. Who cares. . . and it's true that aluminum is corrosion resistant, but engine blocks are made of cast iron and the coolant is of course corrosion resistant. This item will be more durable in my opinion. Iron is much harder than aluminum. It's built "like a tank" and the brass impeller looks more massive. I'll let you know in 50,000 km!
