When I bought my Tacoma it had a complete Reese hitch kit and it worked great. However, I bought a new trailer and noticed lighting problems. There were serious problems on the passenger side, and in general the lights were behaving strangely. I thought it was a typical land issue, but even using dedicated land didn't solve the problem. I turned on the multimeter and found that the passenger side lighting harness showed little to no voltage. Got the Hopkins kit in the mail today and installed it as soon as I got home. The hardest part was getting the old plugs apart and not getting covered in mud from the caked dirt underneath. :) The instructions are easy to follow, but it's actually very easy to do without. Each page is clearly marked. I was so excited about the lighting working properly that I decided to install the LED lights I bought a while back. Doesn't matter! They are much brighter than in the trailer. Together they make an excellent combination. I am very happy with this cable set and would definitely recommend it.
