Very good product when used correctly

Very good product when used correctly. People subconsciously receive them with false expectations. This is NOT a powerful forced air heater. It produces sustained "radiant heat". I will describe my use. This is the advantage of such a heater. Constantly turning it off and on doesn't do anything. Let him heat the room, then turn up the thermostat and go. I built a work shed 12x16, completely insulated (walls R13, ceiling R19). The front double doors are uninsulated and somewhat airy. I used the medium setting at #5 for 4-5 hours and the room was comfortably warm. Then I wanted to see how deep I could go and still keep warm. I used the "low" setting and dial #3 (the point where I could hear the thermostat clicking). Very happy it keeps the room warm on these low settings with outside temperatures in the 30's. This is my workshop, so I won't keep 70 in it. Not super warm and not cold at all. I'm sure if I crank up the settings I can get really hot in there, but it will cost more. With setting #3 on the lowest level, I'm very happy with the result. As with any heat source, common sense dictates that it is important to prevent heat build-up at the ceiling. I installed a ceiling fan on a spike that helps spread the heat a lot over the area to keep it even. If you don't have one, use a small fan to move the air around the room. Heating type "flow heater". It is not for this purpose and not how it was designed or how it works. It takes time to heat this oil and in turn time to heat the area. Once the heater and room are warm, LEAVE IT! If the thermostat clicks loudly, decrease the setting by listening to the setpoint. Quality product, good heat dissipation and heat transfer. Highly recommended. Now I have a comfortable workshop. Oh I made sure to use a dedicated 20A outlet. You can use 15A but make sure there are no other elements in that circuit.
