I bought two of these kits to expand the communication capabilities of a project I was creating. The project communicated via 232 without any problems, but I have not yet received the first byte of data via these converters. I tried different values of termination resistors and also added external power supplies. I was also unable to contact the manufacturer for suggestions. I'm going to borrow test equipment from a friend and see if I can figure out what's going on. I really want this neat little converter to work. It comes nicely packaged with English instructions. They appear to be a good device, but the documentation that comes with them is incomplete on terminators, power supplies, and whether biasing resistors might be needed.
