I also doubt the "Marine" rating as the rear cable connection does not appear to be waterproof (see image). The speaker cables are hardwired. That means there's no speaker port on the back. The included speaker cable goes to the back of the speaker where it is permanently connected. There's really no sound to analyze as there is no bass response and the mids and highs, while not distorted, are a bit muddy. However, speakers can be loud without distortion. They are only suitable for boat speakers where you want background music but sound quality is not an issue. The sea seal is again questionable. The sound quality was a big disappointment, especially when you can buy $50 marine speakers here at Revain which have really good bass and sound quality.
