Easy replacement with many safety features

I bought this remote to replace the original RC-STAT Heat 'N' Glo remote for my gas fireplace which was flicking on erratically every few weeks. After some research I decided on this model because a timer would be more convenient for me than the original RC-STAT's thermostat-based control, which I never used (which is why I didn't buy the TH Skytech model). ). and of course I already had a 110v socket so I didn't have to buy one of the Skytech models with a battery powered receiver. It took me a few minutes to disconnect the RC-STAT because of the heat shrink tubing. This was previously used but once I did it literally took 3 minutes to install Skytech of which 2 minutes recorded two connections. What made this really easy was the fact that Skytech includes both male and female connectors, each pre-assembled with two wires. All I had to do was remove a plug from one of the ports, so I configured one cable with a female connector and left the other cable as a male connector and just plugged them into the male connector. matching flat plugs on my fireplace lighter. I then pressed the "learn" button on the receiver and then pressed the "on" button on the remote to pair them together. It was too easy, and with over a million remote control codes available I'm pretty sure it won't randomly turn on like the old Heat 'N' Glo did. What's even more reassuring is that the receiver has an off button that I can use when I'm on vacation. In addition, the remote control has an additional safety feature: If the remote control is not found near the receiver every 20 minutes, the receiver switches off the gas supply. The remote control also has a child lock mode to prevent unintentional activation by pressing a button. This device is much safer than the original Heat 'N' Glo remote.
