Advantages: - super primitive: consists of only 2 parts - very easy to assemble and install - very wide - 3.875 inches, fits almost any size phone even if the phone is located itself in a protective case Disadvantages: - poor design: a) The entire device is held by only one detail. All the weight of your phone + phone case + mount itself comes from a tiny piece. If you have a large and/or heavy phone, the weight of your phone will just rip the bleed screw out of the case - this is what happened to the bleed screw in my car. I have a different car holder and it has a second stabilizing leg that takes half the weight and makes the whole thing much more balanced and stronger. If you have the right kind of vents, you can still run into a situation where you only buy a partial vent clip, making the connection unbalanced and prone to twisting and breaking the vent clip. Bottom line: a good device, but make the cons useless.
