In my opinion these bags are superior to Foodsaver zip bags in design. It is easy to close the bag completely, and the zipper is of high quality, no need to find grooves to close the bag. I didn't have to use the included tool at all to close these pockets. The valve works well, but if you're used to grocery bags, it takes a little learning. The small plastic valve that goes into the valve isn't completely cut out, so your chosen vacuum nozzle will have to break before it starts removing all the air from the bag. So for my food preservation nozzle the device rotates as if the bag is deflated and after a second or two it breaks the valve in the seal and works fine.
