Rough installation, bad guide, good product
Good product, but guide is useless. If they included a simple 12V open/closed/through circuit for exactly what is needed, installation would be much easier. Allow an additional 2-4 hours of investigation/troubleshooting to get things sorted. After installing "right" it works fine
