This is a case that has some trade-offs.It is incredibly lightweight. It is ridiculously easy to take off and put on your iPad (so if you like to switch things up or have a keyboard case you like to use, this is a nice thing to have!). The material feels fantastic. It's also really versatile, and you're not stuck in a "book" kind of configuration with your case, if that's not how you always use your iPad.However, I have to admit--sometimes I have to stop and think for a minute how I need to origami this thing to get it how I need it, because I AM so used to normal "book" style covers, so this case takes a little bit of getting used to.The magnetic hold is stronger than I expected. it holds the iPad in the case pretty well under normal conditions. If you're not manhandling your device, you shouldn't have any problems. The little extra cover part for the pencil is nice to have. I don't love "extra" things that can completely be unattached, because those are generally things that can get lost. but the whole case is magnetic, and I've found lots of ways to have that little flap attached to the case and out of the way while I'm using the pencil and it's become kind of second nature. I've even used it as a bookmark in a textbook while studying, and also used it to "clip" my apple pencil to my nearby whiteboard to keep it out of the way while I was doing something else.
