Maybe we're doing it wrong. We set up the stand very simply. But when we tried to attach our full-size iPad to the spring mount, the springs were so tight it was very difficult. But at least we could do it. However, we were won over by the secure attachment to the 4 posts that are supposed to hold it on its stand. The pins seem so badly milled that we couldn't lock the holder to it and it kept slipping out, causing our iPad to fall on the floor one day. I suggest reconsidering the mount as we use the iPad for typing on a desk and it's too heavy to fit in this narrow mount. And of course you should change the attachment of the holder to the stand. First, the cantilever mount is supposed to be removable, which doesn't appear to be the case. Second, these 4 posts do not allow you to repair in the field. Conclusion: The stand is useless.
