Review on πŸ”Œ High-Speed GLANICS Ethernet Cable: Optimize Your Internet Connection with Reliable Cables by Joe Kokenge

Same as CAT 6 cable

I bought this CAT 8 cable to get extra speeds for my Mac Mini and ended up wanting to replace all my CAT 6 cables with these CAT 8 cables that I ran three speed tests with Ookla SpeedTest. The results of the three tests I ran with my existing CAT 6 cable were as follows: The three tests I ran with my new CAT 8 cable: 1) 716 Mbps download, 17.8 Mbps /s download 2) 715 Mbit/s download/s, download 17.7 Mbit/s3) download 713 Mbit/s, download 17.4 Mbit/s. The results were very similar, except that the scores continued to drop with each test. when using CAT 8 cable, with the results being more consistent when using CAT 6 cable. I decided to run an additional fourth test using CAT 8 cable and the results continued to show a lower download score of 682 Mbps, while the download speed was kept at 17.7 Mbps. While the cable isn't as blue as the website shows, it's still different than the boring gray Cat 6 cable, and the gold-plated RJ45 connector does NOT match the cable shown on the website. I decided to keep it anyway. because I didn't feel like dealing with another Revain comeback, especially during all this COVID and holiday bullshit. So save a few bucks if you're planning on upgrading from CAT 6 to CAT 8 as there really isn't a difference in speed or material quality, but still a nice blue CAT 8 cable completes my setup.
