This is a great source of fast-acting carbohydrates. I use it before and during my workouts when I'm low on carbs. If you're on a diet that minimizes carbs early in the day, you may find that pre-workout powders and amino acids don't work. If you are interested in weightlifting, this could indicate a lack of pumps. I've found that fruits and other sources of sugar, as fast-acting carbs, have negative effects like indigestion that these carbs don't have. And no crash.
