For music, the filter reduces noise fidelity.

The filter definitely justifies its advertising. It's also very compact and small enough not to get in the way. But for music, and for those who really love music, this filter just removes too much sound along with the noise. In fact, you can boost the bass and mids to make it less noticeable that something is missing. But the bottom line is that some of the audio information is gone, and if you know what the music should sound like, you'll notice. Now that I've heard both, I'd rather tolerate the noise and have full fidelity. Music instead of using a filter for the occasion. Maybe for a phone or a voice only case, that would be perfect.
