I have lower back problems. I am ordering my 6th lumbar support. The secret is not to overdo it. Fill just enough to fill the space in your lower back. I keep one in the car, my husband even uses it when he travels. I use it in hotel beds for the back, in the car, at work and at home. They wear out, but are always a few years behind. The plastic cap on the mouthpiece covers the beak. Several years for about $17, good buy and good back health.
