The only downside was that the edge of one set was still sharp. I used 220 grit sandpaper, problem solved. For the price they are a decent set. The silicone seems quite thick. The tong locking mechanism worked well on all three tongs. They are all open well. I've used small tongs to remove thin bread from the toaster and they worked great. Medium tongs work well with my air fryer as that was my main reason for buying. I haven't used the big tongs yet. If you hand wash them I wouldn't put them in a cutlery basket with forks and knives, the silicone can chip and I'm not sure how it will hold up. They're not heavy-duty stainless steel like my non-silicone tongs, but they're medium thickness that won't bend easily and will last for years when used in a regular kitchen. I have not tested any heat resistance other than my deep fryer. When the products were stirred at 400°F no melting occurred. I like different sizes so I can choose the length I need.
