Review on ALTRA Superior 10.5 Men's Trail Running Shoes in Black by Mike Bonilla

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worn twice and they are already torn.

These shoes are coming apart at the seams and I haven't even broken them in yet. Unfortunately I'm not a regular runner so in the time I've worn them twice I missed the Revain return window. I used to love Altra. My Lone Peaks 4.0 was the best trail shoe I've ever owned, but since the Lone Peaks update got such bad reviews, I chose this shoe. These Superior 4.0 are ridiculous and the worst trail running shoes I have ever owned. I've never had such a poorly made shoe. It's like they were made by a different company. They have very little metatarsal support, my foot slides in them and the shoe rolls over my foot on every incline, even when they are so tight it hurts. I tried to contact Altra about the quality issue and they said brush me off and send me to their warranty page. I'm not an ultra fan anymore. I will look elsewhere for trail running shoes.

Pros
  • Light enough for easy and fast running
Cons
  • Tends to slip on slippery surfaces
