This is a great item. I find crimp rings easier to use than copper crimp rings. Crimp rings require a bit of practice to crimp properly and are nearly impossible to use in tight spaces. These clamp rings are much easier to use. This tool is well built and the ratcheting mechanism makes clamping the rings easy. Crimping tools require a lot of crimping force, but this tension tool doesn't. I bought 3/8 clamps from my local big box orange store. PEX piping is much easier to use than copper. In my house, the PEX pipes go straight to the faucets and toilets. It does not have a shut-off valve on the device. If I had a leak, I had to run to the garage to turn off the water. With this tool I installed check valves on all fittings. If someone wants to do this, you most likely have a 3/8 pex working with your device. The only place you can find a 3/8 Pex notch valve is the Orange online store. I received a pack of six and added a check valve to all my fittings. Each lasted about 30 seconds with no leaks. Great tool if you have PEX piping. Comes packaged like a fancy electronic device.
