I actually bench tested the pair I received before rewiring and installing. Power was provided by three Group 31 batteries and a 110-555 160 amp Leece-Neville with the engine idling. at 1600 rpm, so lots of juice. Block #1 filled an 8-1/2 gallon portable air tank (connected directly to tank) to 125 psi in 10 minutes --- 150 psi in 13 minutes 15 seconds; My meter peaked at 160, so I can't confirm what's going on beyond that. Unit #2 - 130psi in 10 minutes --- 150psi in 12 minutes 30 seconds. So there is a difference from one device to another. The chassis of both units felt cool after each test, and the motors didn't slow down at all at 150 PSI, so I have no doubt that 200 PSI is easily achievable. I like compressors and am very happy with them. like: one of my units was mounted in a wall and rocks on a bench like a chair on a short leg; I haven't seen a non-invasive way to fix this, so there are two 1/4" washers on the high leg to even it out. It should never have passed quality control. They have changed it since I ordered it but the description of the item, the instructions that came with it and the many reviews I read led me to believe that I should have received two lengths of air cleaner remote mount hose = I did not receive these hoses and when I mentioned it, I got the footwork and the lack of tubing. In this day and age of UPS Truck Bandit followers, I can totally understand why a signature was required for delivery and I can respect that; However, I was unaware of this fact beforehand and happened to run into a UPS agent who got out of my lane; If I had been a few seconds late I would not have received my compressors that day and the UPS man would have wasted his trip; If I had known a signature was required I would have made arrangements to be there. Mounting screws are tiny; and the design of the fasteners is not suitable to expand the holes and use more suitable screws. The supplied screws are not stainless; it should have been given to a shiny chrome compressor. The wires exit the device with no flexible guards or other means of protection, and soon the insulation ruptures right where the wires exit the device; I made the Flex Guards myself. The insulation on the wires didn't give me much confidence and looks more like something on a cheap oriental product. Instead of a good two-wire pigtail plug, a filigree spatula socket is included. Because the compressors are plated in gleaming chrome and the attached air hose is an impressive stainless steel braid, the two wires poking out of the end of the unit look cheap and cheapen the look of the whole assembly; at the very least, these wires should be insulated as a single cable, complete with flex-guard; and better yet, it had to be in flexible stainless steel tubing; it shouldn't have added more than ten dollars or so to the cost, and it doesn't look like VIAIR is in a price war or has any competitors. One of these devices replaced the Elcheapo device which did not inflate the beach ball; It is connected to a 5 gallon tank that was already in place and in use. Nice to finally be able to have a compressor on my truck and deliver it; and will apparently continue to do so. The second unit I intend to use as a portable unit until I take the liberty of installing it on either my truck or one of the other trucks. I have. One of these is more than enough to keep the tank pressurized for about ten gallons, for the occasional honk, blow dirt out of something and occasionally pump up a flat or flat tire. I cannot confirm the durability of the devices I received; we let it build on VIAIR's well-deserved reputation. I am very satisfied and impressed with my compressors; But the downsides I mentioned should be eliminated for something as perfect as this.
