Review on Vixen Horns VXS6200: Explore the Versatile Electronic Horn with 46 Sounds for Musical, Siren, Alarm, Sound Effects, and Animal Noises - 12V by Virgilio Patton

Cool but generally poor quality, lots of distortion when volume is turned up, sluggish functionality

Easy to install and plays 46 sounds as advertised but overall quality and functionality is disappointing. Generally bad quality. With such a low level of performance, you would expect a dirty cheap China price. The speaker/amplifier sounds very harsh and distorts the sound severely. Keep it at 1/4-1/3 volume and it sounds good but too quiet for any enjoyment. At 1/4 volume you have distortion, and anything higher is just amplified noise. The functionality is a bit clunky, as it starts playing sounds when you press something, even if it's not a sound effects button. Pressing the mode button starts siren, melody or animal sounds. The stop button stops the sound effect, but then emits a loud beep, why? I found that very annoying and unnecessary. As for the sounds, the sound of the train is a distorted soundtrack of a running engine and a whistle. I would trade some sirens for a train horn, a train whistle and a truck horn. The microphone never worked. The kids loved it, but any adult working towards buying the device would be disappointed.
