Review on TRMS 6000 Auto Ranging Digital Multimeter: Battery Powered, Alligator Clips, AC/DC Voltage, Amp/Ohm/Volt Multi Tester by Joseph Katipally

I will be returning this DVM. Judging by the number of good reviews (?), I may have gotten a bad device, but I can't use this thing. It looks good, has a lot of good features and is easy to use. BUT it's not ready for prime time compared to my trusty old master: 1. The backlight auto-off after 10 seconds is too short. Why even automatic shutdown? 2. Almost every action you perform is accompanied by a beep. It's annoying almost immediately. Overly sensitive. Most of the measurements were so jerky that it could take 15-20 seconds to settle down and accept that the 1K resistor is actually 989 ohms or that the current is 0.57mA and not somewhere between 1.50mA and 0.20 mA. Very, very flaky.4. The instructions are in English, but hardly. It is incomplete and poorly translated into boot.5. And yes, poor quality cables as mentioned elsewhere.
