Review on πŸ› οΈ Lisle 33260 Flaring Tool for Professional Grade Flares and Precision Tubing by Matthew Hoang

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It might be useful if all parts were present.

First attempt to use this torch type. I usually use my Mastercool hydraulic brake line flare tool, but I gifted it to a friend about 6 months ago. I decided it would be quicker to just use Prime and get another brake line tool rather than waiting for mine to be returned. I have a couple of Lisle instruments that I can't complain about, so I settled on this one. When I received this tool I opened it up and stared at it for about 10 minutes trying to figure out exactly how it was supposed to work and how to use it to create the brake line flare. I then went to instructions that appeared to have been photocopied every year since about 1994 and saw that my kit was actually missing the 2 main flare jets needed to flare the brake line. The set/tool is completely useless without a stamp. On top of that, the molded body of the clamshell included in the kit deforms and doesn't even close completely, with or without tool residue inside.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some errors
