I've bought several Seagate external hard drives over the past few years and they all still work, but I needed a larger backup drive and decided it was time for 14TB. It is plug & play and like all other drives easily portable. However, as some other reviewers have noted, even with 3.0, the transfer speed is much slower than my other Seagate drives. One thing that really annoys me, and not only does Seagate do that, it seems to be the majority of computer memory. produced, but the maximum capacity of the drive is only 12.7 TB even after reformatting again. THIS IS NOT 14TB. That's more than a full TB not on disk. SMHUPDATE: 10 days after receiving this hard drive he died and although it was registered with Seagate, after live chatting on their website for an hour and sending screenshots the rep said the hard drive was fatally damaged and nothing of Seagate could end up either reformatting the drive (after going through special tricks) or discussing a refund and referring me back to Revain for a refund/refund, which Revain was more than accommodating. 10 days and dead. Bad.
