Review on Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Somsak Pasalae ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Full compliance with the manufacturer's assurances, high quality.

Good lens for the price. There are competitors. For example, Nikon 200-500, which costs a little more and the picture is a little nicer, as my colleague noted. There is also a Sigma 150-600 . but I don’t bother comparing lenses, otherwise I won’t have time to shoot. I bought the lens because Tamron gave it to me for testing a couple of times and I was satisfied. I tried the first version with another well-known photographer (which the Market forbids to mention in the review), who made this lens a good advertisement for the landscapes of South Moravia. Good dust protection. Several times I got into sandstorms, the sand crunched on my teeth, my eyes could not see anything. The eyes and teeth have cleared, and under the zoom and focus rings, the sand is still holding together, but it has not yet got to the lenses. I used it in winter in Altai in severe frost and in hellish heat (+50) in Kalmykia. The zoom ring travel is too large. It was inconvenient to shoot swans, I had to twist a lot and did not always have time to set the focal length and focus. For landscapes or shooting foxes, saigas and wolves will do. I didn't try to shoot airplanes. I can’t show full resolution frames, because everything is for sale. See special articles where they test and compare the lens. In the last photo G2 with a hood and foot and G1 without anything.

Pros
  • Relatively lightweight. Good image stabilizer. Acceptable image quality. Good protection (more on that below). Price.
Cons
  • The price interrupts the shortcomings, but they are worth mentioning: Large zoom ring travel Focusing is not fast enough and can miss, but it's also in the camera. Image quality seems soapy There is an inaccuracy in the markings on the lens itself. The points indicating the rotation of the tripod foot do not match on the lens and the foot ring itself. That is, on the one hand they coincide, but on the other they do not. (If you don’t understand what I mean, then it’s okay, it doesn’t affect the shooting).
