I volunteer as a costume manager for a youth theater. We have a lot of suits that need washing. We often use upholstery fabrics and other fabrics that tend to bleed when washed. I've used them and they saved a lot of clothes from colored "oops". I washed a white bloomers and blouse set with a bright purple ribbon running through the white eyelet lace around the neck, front and in layers down the legs. White was always white. The underwear was purple. Last night my teenage daughter wore a teal shirt with khaki pants. Luckily she used laundry for laundry. There was no blue on the khakis, but a very blue washcloth.
