Review on πŸ”‹ Bostitch Battery Desktop Pencil Sharpener, Black (02697): Efficient Sharpening at Your Desk by Angela Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The inlet and shaft are at an odd angle, but they sharpen perfectly

Sharpens as well as any sharpener. Long tip with a tiny blunt distal end. I sharpen the General HB brand raw cedar pencils used for drawing scores on 70 pound card stock. I give one star for ergonomics. The angle of the "shank" that the pencil enters (insert Dr. Freud's thoughts) is NOT perpendicular to the table the thing sits on. It's very intuitive and natural to try to insert a pen at a 90 degree angle to your desktop. But this sharpener is slightly crooked. It's not a predictable angle like 22-1/2 or 45. Of course, that's enough for "stylish" reasons, to ensure you always start off-center and have to be a little more careful when "pulling". However, it's okay to reach the pencil all the way to the sharpener. A further development of the pen would be logical on a sanding board when doing something like shading with a very hard lead.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
