I bought it on March 3 in addition to the staffer 24-105 on the Canon 50D. The lens is not the main one, I consider focal 10-12 too extreme for myself, 24 at the long end is also good, less often refasten. Aperture is constant - good, on a full frame you can use from 18 to 24 - I checked it. Alas, by design, this is not L. Probably, these used to be uncompromising "iron" Tokins, and this one is pure plastic. The disadvantages of quality are visible in the details: an ugly back cover, a foil ring glued with an overlap (where Elek has a beautiful red ring), a rough lens hood, most importantly, it sits on the mount almost with a screech, while Canon lenses are like clockwork. Autofocus is acceptable, but if at 24-105 it barely audibly rustles pleasantly, then Tokina is a little louder, and the sound resembles a good modern "drilling" machine in a dental office. I liked the original mechanism for switching to manual focus, but with normal "Canons" you can not switch anything, but turn the ring at any time. Elka's sharpness is better by 24, the color rendition is also more natural, more contrasting - who would doubt it, but Tokina's chromatic aberrations unexpectedly turned out to be less, while chrome abber. are considered the main drawback of "Tokina". (At one time I was struck by the amount of chromaticity at 24-105, it seems that the only lens where I don’t have it is the MTO-1000). At 12mm "Tokina" becomes very sharp, but chrome. aberrations are greatly increased. The geometry of the "Tokina" seemed perfect to me - no "barrel", the main thing is not to tilt the camera, in terms of vignetting, everything is also very good. In general, I am satisfied with the lens, do not buy, in fact, 16-35L, but for 17-40 the reviews are very contradictory; 10-22 expensive and somehow flimsy, I still treat Sigmas with distrust; The Tamron is cheaply made and hums like a tractor.
