The ribbon cable interferes with installation

The ribbon cable has been folded so that it does not touch the shoulder holding the screen. This prevented the screen from being flush, rendering the adhesive unusable. As I struggled to bend the ribbon cable to fit, the digitizer began to fail due to tampering. I bought another version with pictures showing a better ribbon cable design and had no trouble installing it (although the adhesive was still lacking).
