My family bought me an intermediate set for Father's Day - I played croquet as a kid with a set we had for many years. round, one of the white plastic end caps on the mallets is divided at the side, another started from the 3rd game. The balls we used seem to pierce with little contact - no one has even attempted to send balls after contact like we did as a kid, so that's alarming. Finally, at the end of Game 3, my 9-year-old daughter started her return journey from the far post. She has a hard time mustering enough strength to move the ball any distance. When she hit the post right near the ground to send the ball over the first two wickets, the post broke in half 6 or 8 inches up the shaft. Looking at the other post I saw that it had several cracks that started down the length of the shaft. Again: 3 games with very light and non-aggressive use. This set has no sustainability - I will initiate going back and trying something different.
