UPDATE: It's been about 2 weeks and the sharpener is still working. I am happy with this sharpener. Let's start with what I liked. It has a long tip, as it should be, and the blade unit slides out, making it easy to clean and remove broken tips that get stuck from time to time. It also has an automatic stop when the pencil is sharpened. Although the blade assembly comes out easily, it's very difficult to put back on and the parts feel cheap, mostly cheap plastic. The shavings container is made up of several pieces with a hole in the bottom making it a mess when emptying. All in all this is a very good product.
