Review on πŸš— K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Boost Horsepower for 2009-2013 Honda Fit - 69-1017TTK by Christopher Buck

So much love for this air intake

The K&N kit comes with very simple instructions printed specifically for your fit. I was amazed at that. They then also included a dynamometer chart showing peak horsepower gains, which blew what little I had left in my head. So just great. As for the install, the stock Fit air cleaner housing is oddly shaped and bulky. K&N says you don't have to remove the battery to take it out, but I've found that removing the battery makes it much easier to remove the filter housing and install a new inlet. The rest is easy and very easy to follow the written or pictorial instructions. K&N consumption sounds phenomenal. Right between 3500 and 5000 rpm there is a pleasant growl that makes tunnel driving just incredible. I was a little concerned that my Fit would make that awful tinny "rice rocket" sound, but no, it sounds great without being annoying. But since the Fit is already susceptible to interior noise, the intake noise is very noticeable. Luckily it sounds great. Be sure to purchase a K&N reload kit to clean the filter. Since the Fit has an air duct under the hood, only one side gets "dirty," so just loosen the clamp and rotate the cone air filter about once a month. I recommend cleaning the filter every 6 months.
