Installed the air intake in less than an hour as I also replaced the serpentine belt, AC belt and serpentine tensioner. Pretty easy to install except the vibration pad screw broke when I was tightening it. (I'll call to get a replacement.) After installing everything, I booted up my truck (2000 Chevy Silverado Z71 1500). You could tell by the sound that it was already working. I ran the truck for about 4 minutes and accelerated to 3500 rpm. It sounded great, much lower pitch than usual. Even though I had a load in bed I had to take it for a walk. Throttle response was quicker, as was acceleration. Hitting the gas pedal gave a boost that hadn't been felt before. Overall I'm very happy with this upgrade from my old trusty truck. I was considering the K&N version but the price was more than I was willing to pay. I would recommend this product to everyone. Four 1/2 stars because the screw breaks easily. Addendum: The filter fell off after a year. It was easy. I reinstalled it and there were no more crashing issues. The engine still sounds great with a nice low rumble and its response is still good for 233,000 miles.
